The Resideo Honeywell Home PROSiXSMOKEVCN is a wireless combination heat/smoke detector that is intended for use with control panels that support PROSiX-Series devices. The PROSiXSMOKEVCN heat/smoke detector is compatible with the ProSeries Canada PROA7CN or ProSeries Canada PROA7PLUSCN all-in-one wireless touchscreen control panels. The PROSiXSMOKEVCN multi-criteria smoke detector employs advanced levels of detection and discrimination. It reduces common cooking nuisance alarms and allows faster detection to different types of fire conditions.
The PROSiXSMOKEVCN detector reports the following signals in addition to detecting smoke conditions. It detects for two specific heat conditions; fixed heat above 135° F and rate-of-rise detection for greater than 104° and 15°F temperature rise per minute. The detector alarms when 135° F; is exceeded and restores when it falls below 135° F. However, the thermistor is damaged at 195° F and the integrity of the detector itself is compromised and needs to be replaced if that occurs.
It also sends maintenance signals when the chamber is contaminated and requires cleaning. An end-of-life signal will be sent when the PROSiXSMOKEVCN device is no longer functional and needs to be replaced entirely. A base tamper signal will be sent to to the control panel when the smoke head is removed from the base. A supervision signal is sent to the panel every 200 seconds to check-in for system compatibility. Additionally, a signal and battery strength signal is sent so you know when the sensor is out of range or the batteries are low and need replacement. If programmed into the control panel to operate in One-Go-All-Go mode, all smoke detectors programmed as One-Go-All-Go in the system will sound on alarm.
The PROSiXSMOKEVCN tamper will alert if the detector is removed from the base. It will send a tamper signal to the control panel. The tamper can be made tamper-proof to prevent unauthorized removal from the base. To do so, simply break off the small pillar on the base. This causes the detector to latch to the base. Form this point on, to remove the detector from its base, you must use a small screwdriver to release the catch and twist the the detector counter-clockwise. A screw can be added to prevent removal from the base.
To enroll and setup the device, you must enroll it in the control panel. When prompted, activate the PROSiXSMOKEVCN by pulling the battery tab or, if already powered, press the Test button to enroll. It enrolls into 2 zones: smoke detection into one zone and heat detection into a second zone. If the detector is not successfully enrolled during the enrollment period, the LED turns off and the device powers down. Activate the tamper or press the Test Button to restart the enrollment. The enrollment time varies depending on the signal strength between the device and the control panel. Once enrolled in a system, the detector cannot be used with another system until it is removed from the current one.
Before mounting the PROSiXSMOKEVCN detector permanently, conduct a Walk Test to verifiy adequate signal strength and adjust the device location and orientation as necessary. Refer to the Limitation of Fire alarm systems document for detailed information on detector spacing, placement zoning and special applications. The detector can be mounted on the ceiling or on the wall. Select a location and mount using the included mounting hardware.
The detector should be tested immediately after installation and at least once a year. Notify the central station that the smoke detector is undergoing tests, so we do not dispatch the authorities. You may choose to test the detector by; pressing the Test Button, smoke entry test (using canned smoke), direct heat test (by using a hair dryer spaced 12" or further away and blowing heat at the sensor). The PROSiXSMOKEVCN has one-green LED and a seperate bi-color (red and yellow) LED with an 85dB sounder. To clean the detector, carefully vacuum the side vents all the way around, then, wipe them with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do NOT attempt to take the detector apart. This could result in damaging the unit.
